Zarco secures 7th place in Saturday’s Sprint

CASTROL Honda LCR rider Johann Zarco finishes 7th in Saturday’s Sprint at Portimão.

• After a strong qualifying session, starting from 6th on the grid, Frenchman Johann Zarco made a good start and immediately placed himself in the fight.
• Around the roller-coaster circuit of Portugal, Zarco maintained his momentum throughout the 12-lap Sprint, engaging in an exciting photo-finish battle for the top-six positions.
• He crossed the line in 7th place, securing valuable points and further strengthening his confidence, which gives him extra motivation heading into tomorrow’s race.

“It was a good Saturday overall. Starting from the second row on the grid was positive, and during the race I made a strong start. It’s fair to say everything went well today; I was just missing a bit of pace. We’ve gained some speed, but there’s still room for improvement, and we’re working to find a solution. In any case, I really enjoyed the battles until the finish, it was great fun. Finishing seventh is a positive result, and I’m happy to be back in the points in Saturday’s Sprint. Let’s see what we can do tomorrow”.
