Hungarian Grand Prix: Tough race for Zarco in Hungary
CASTROL Honda LCR rider Johann Zarco crashed during Sunday’s race at Balaton Park.
- Starting from the 18th spot on the grid and after noticing some improvements in the morning warm-up, the Frenchman was determined to fight for the best possible result and bounce back from Saturday’s Sprint.
- He made a good start and gained positions as the laps went by, showing consistency and speed while maintaining a strong rhythm.
- Unfortunately, with six laps to go, while running in 12th position and pushing to reach the top 10, he crashed but escaped without injury.
- The Hungarian Grand Prix has been really tough for Johann and the team. Now it’s time to reset and get ready for the next round in two weeks’ time in Barcelona.
Johann Zarco DNF
“I had a good start and felt I could reach the top 10. I was managing my race and focused on making the most of it, because we really needed to finish on a positive note. However, with six laps to go, while trying to defend my position, I ended up in the gravel. Luckily, I’m fine, even though it was a big crash. We’ll learn from this weekend and try to recover in Barcelona.”
