German Grand Prix: Zarco’s strong effort ends in tough Sachsenring race
CASTROL Honda LCR rider Johann Zarco has crashed at Sachsenring’s Sunday race.
- Starting from 2nd on the grid, Frenchman Johann Zarco got off to a strong start and fought for the top positions.
- He was pushing hard and battling for a top-6 spot when a lack of temperature in the front tyre compromised his pace and performance. On Turn 1, with 13 laps remaining, he ended up in the gravel.
- Fortunately, the rider is unharmed and did not suffer any physical consequences.
- LCR assumes responsibility, as after checking the data, it seems the tyre temperature was not optimal.
- The team will now analyze the incident thoroughly to extract as much feedback as possible and be fully prepared for the next race in seven days at the Brno circuit.
Johann Zarco DNF
“It’s a pity to end the weekend like this. After yesterday, I was aiming for a strong result, and we were fighting for good positions before the crash. Unfortunately, the front tyre didn’t reach the right temperature, and I went down. It’s a shame, because this weekend we had the feeling back and the potential to do a good job. We’ll try again next week in Brno!”
