Czech Grand Prix: Challenging race at Brno ends with points for Zarco

CASTROL Honda LCR rider Johann Zarco finished 13th in Sunday’s race at Brno.
  • The Frenchman opted for the soft rear tyre for the race, a compound that had proven to be a solid choice for him during Saturday’s Sprint.
  • However, over the 21-lap distance, he struggled to maintain momentum and stay with the group as the laps progressed.
  • With 11 laps remaining, Zarco was unable to recover positions and shifted his focus to avoiding mistakes and doing his best until the end, admitting a general lack of front-end grip.
  • He crossed the line in 13th place, collecting points once again and setting his fastest lap on the final lap (1’54.548), wrapping up an overall positive weekend ahead of the summer break.

“Already from the first lap, I didn’t have the best feeling. As the laps went by, I felt the rear tyre was getting hotter than it did yesterday. I was the only one on the soft rear tyre, and that compromised my performance in the end. At least I managed to finish the race and pick up some points. We need to learn from this first part of the season, which had a lot of positives, and keep fighting to improve and do better in the second half. I want to thank the team for their hard work.”
