Italian Grand Prix: Unfortunate Sprint for Zarco at Mugello

CASTROL Honda LCR rider Johann Zarco was unable to finish the Mugello Sprint after being taken out by another rider.

  • Frenchman Johann Zarco qualified 14th and was determined to push in the Sprint after noticing some improvements in the morning.
  • Starting from the fifth row of the grid, he made a strong start and immediately gained some positions. However, at the first corner, another rider collided with him, forcing him off into the gravel.
  • Zarco is unharmed and has not suffered any injuries. He will look to bounce back from this disappointing outcome in tomorrow’s race.

“Such a pity about the Sprint. At the first corner, it’s very difficult to know where to brake, but from my experience, braking a bit late and taking a wider line helps to gain positions. It’s unfortunate because we had made a step forward, and it felt good to know I could do it right. We are struggling more here than at other tracks, and we need to understand better why. Tomorrow, I want to finish the race and score some points. We need a good result.”
