Aragon Grand Prix: Setback for Johann Zarco at Aragon
CASTROL Honda LCR rider Johann Zarco has crashed in Sunday’s race at Aragon.
- The French rider felt noticeably better today compared to yesterday and was ready to fight for the best possible result starting from 12th on the grid.
- While trying to overtake a rival, an increase in tyre temperature caused a loss of the front end of the bike, resulting in a crash that unfortunately ended his race prematurely.
- Before the incident, Zarco demonstrated a strong pace and showed he had the rhythm and consistency needed to fight for a top 10 finish.
- Looking on the bright side, Zarco now feels significantly more comfortable with the bike’s handling and setup, and he is optimistic about the upcoming test where he aims to continue making improvements.
Johann Zarco DNF
“Today, I had a good pace during the laps I completed and felt competitive enough to fight for a top 10 position. While trying to overtake Miller, the tyre temperature got too high due to the conditions we were facing on track, and I crashed. At least we learned something from that. I feel like I know the bike pretty well now. I can tell when things are working and when they aren’t, and that helps. Tomorrow’s test will be important. Overall, the strong results from recent weeks give me the confidence to accept that setbacks happen sometimes, and we always learn from every situation.”
